Morris Long is a screenwriter from Chicago, Illinois.
Growing up, he fell in love with storytelling while drawing cartoons for websites like Newgrounds.com. For him, writing and visuals were inexorably linked.
He attended Columbia College Chicago to pursue a career in film, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2012. From there, Morris moved to Los Angeles to attend the American Film Institute. While at the AFI, he won the Austin Film Festival’s Dramatic Screenplay Award.
His scripts also ranked as finalists for the Page Awards and Script Pipeline Feature Screenwriting competition. In 2014, the AFI awarded Morris the China Story Scholarship. He spent the following summer living in Beijing, while writing a feature screenplay for IDG China.
